Which Cars Do Owners Keep For a Decade or Longer?

As reported in a recent article in Forbes.com, the average age of all light-duty vehicles in the U.S. has reached a new all-time high of 11.5 years according to IHS Automotive. Based on a study by iSeeCars.com, an average of 13.5% of cars 10 or years older are held onto by their initial purchaser. Out of 15 models, nine were Toyota models, including the Prius, RAV4, Highlander, Sienna, Camry, Avalon, Corolla, 4Runner and Matrix. Here is the full article from Forbes.com.

Nickelodeon and Toyota Create SpongeBob SquarePants-Inspired 2014 Toyota Highlander

Nickelodeon and Toyota are making this the best summer ever for SpongeBob fans with the creation of the first SpongeBob SquarePants-inspired vehicle. The SpongeBob 2014 Toyota Highlander will feature a custom SpongeBob-themed exterior and an interior design that captures all of the beloved character’s high-octane energy.  The one-of-a-kind concept vehicle will be unveiled on July 13th, during Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob Day at the Padres vs. Giants game in San Diego, Calif. Answer: the Toyota Prius C hybrid car, according to Edmunds.com’s analysis of March sales and inventory numbers. The Prius C, the newest, smallest, and least expensive member of the Toyota Prius hybrid family, barely has time to dirty its tires because the Prius C, which starts at $19,000, stays on the dealership lot only about eight days until a buyer drives it away. In addition to the Prius C hybrid, the Toyota Camry Hybrid and Toyota Highlander Hybrid also made the list of quickest-selling cars in March; the Prius V, the larger member of the family of three, was on that list in February.
