Nahjee Grant childrens book

Join Us in a Children’s Book Donation Drive

Ardmore Toyota has quite a history of community involvement, and the dealership’s latest efforts tackle an issue that is at the forefront of society today: Police and community relations. Ardmore Toyota has made a donation to support a former employee in publishing a children’s book about improving relationships between police and the communities in which they serve. And we’d love for you to also make a donation to help see this project through. Funding Nahjee Grant’s Next Children’s Book Aron Goes to the Police Academy is the latest work of Nahjee Grant, a former Ardmore Toyota employee and civic leader who has gone on to publish 12 children’s books including Aron Goes to the White House Science Fair and Aron Runs for Class President. Grant’s latest work takes on a touchy subject in a way that is fun and lighthearted but with a clear and direct message, and it draws on some of the real-world work he has done to bridge the gap between police and the community. Bringing His Story to Life Grant is utilizing the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo to fund the costs associated with publishing the book and bringing it to bookshelves and police departments all across the country. The money raised will help pay for the book’s illustrations rendered by a freelance artist, formatting, ISBN registration, proof printing, and curriculum production. Grant hopes to initially publish 1,000 books to distribute to police departments that are associated with the Race for Peace organization, which is made up of members of law enforcement, clergy, government, and citizens from the greater Philadelphia area. Donate Today Grant’s crowdfunding campaign ends on August 12, and he could use your help to cross the finish line. To donate or to learn more about the book and Nahjee himself, visit the project page here. To show his appreciation to everyone who makes a donation, Nahjee is offering up some limited-edition rewards including early access to the book. We encourage you to make a donation to help bring Nahjee’s idea to life and to inspire change in the Philadelphia community and beyond.

Toyota Tundra Food Drive 2018 Philadelphia PA

Ardmore Toyota Participates in Philabundance Food Drive

We at Ardmore Toyota were privileged to participate in the 12th annual Philabundance “Haul Away Hunger” event in our community. Read more about the Toyota Tundra Food Drive, how it impacted those in need, and how you can get involved. Annual Haul Away Hunger Event On December 14, 2018, we were able to do our part to help Philabundance, an organization that battles hunger in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at the Toyota Tundra Food Drive. During this event we, along with Tri-State Toyota dealers, partners in Toyota Financial Services, the Central Atlantic and New York sales regions of Toyota Motor North America, and ToyotaLift, delivered more than 350,000 meals — an amount that could help feed families in need into the New Year. Over 75 Toyota trucks, including the 2019 Toyota Tundra made the 7-mile trip to Citizens Bank Park hauling pallets amounting to about 180 tons of food, which surpassed the previous year by an impressive 10 tons. The 360,000 pounds offers enough fresh produce to feed 18,000 people for just a week, an impact that many families count on. Thanks to the supporters, media personalities, local sports icons, mascots and cheerleaders, it was definitely an event to remember in the city of brotherly love. Making A Difference In Our Community With Philabundance Philabundance, a member of Feeding America, is an organization that helps fight hunger locally. Hunger affects 1 in 8 people in the United States, including 1 in 5 people in the Philadelphia area alone, which is just one of the reasons this organization is so important to us. Philabundance serves 90,000 hungry people a week, 30% of whom are children and 16% of whom are seniors. To find out how you can get involved with Philabundance, visit www.philabundance.org, and be sure to keep a lookout for the hashtags #TundraFoodDrive and #HaulAwayHunger on your social media platforms to find local events. Driving Away the Cold: Winter Coat Drive at Ardmore Toyota

This winter, Ardmore Toyota participated in the Auto Dealers Association’s Driving Away the Cold program. We were able to donate a total of 100 coats to two non-profit organizations in our local Philadelphia community: the Ardmore Avenue Community Center and the People’s Emergency Center. Our team was excited to kick off the season of giving by supporting the community in which we work and live, just as we’ve done for over 100 years. Driving Away the Cold Driving Away the Cold is an annual event in which car dealerships and their customers, vendors, and employees purchase coats for children in need. There are about 175,000 kids living in poverty in the greater Philadelphia area. As the bitter cold of winter sets in, a new coat of their own can help put a smile on their face and keep them safe and healthy. The coats donated came in a range of colors and styles. Ardmore Toyota’s 100-coat donation was distributed to two organizations we feel passionate about and whose missions align with our own. The Ardmore Avenue Community Center is dedicated to helping youth in the South Ardmore area by supporting them with educational, recreational, cultural, and social resources. The People’s Emergency Center helps strengthen West Philadelphia by supporting families and youth who are experiencing homelessness. By donating the coats to these non-profits, we hope to reach the kids who need them most. Our Legacy of Community Involvement Continues Community involvement has been an integral part of Ardmore Toyota’s foundation since the very beginning. We believe that even the smallest accomplishments can have a big impact. Over the years, we’ve supported dozens of local organizations, but more recently, our staff teamed up to donate Thanksgiving food and to participate in the Lower Merion Police Department’s Special Olympics Torch Run. If you’d like to learn more about how you can help our underprivileged neighbors in the greater Philadelphia area, we encourage you to reach out to the Ardmore Avenue Community Center in Ardmore or to the People’s Emergency Center. If you have any questions about Ardmore Toyota or our outreach efforts, please stop by the dealership or contact us today.

Toyota Sponsors Philadelphia’s Historic Super Bowl Run

News Release Philadelphia, PA: Millions worldwide witnessed history as Coach Doug Pederson and the Philadelphia Eagles claimed their first Super Bowl victory in franchise history with a 41-33 win over the New England Patriots on February 4. As a proud automotive partner of the team, Toyota was honored to be a part of the soaring celebration on the field after the big game. But the fun only started at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the venue for Super Bowl LII. The following Thursday, hundreds of thousands of diehard Eagles fans flocked into the streets of downtown Philadelphia for the “Parade of Champions.” Toyota was once again on-hand for the action as the official title sponsor of NBC10’s coverage. And the automaker delivered a surprise almost as dazzling as the “Philly Special” trick play executed to perfection by Trey Burton and Nick Foles: A Toyota Tundra decked out in Eagles gear from bumper to bumper. The midnight green and black full-size pickup truck passed Philly fanatics on Broad Street, JFK Blvd., and Benjamin Franklin Parkway before stopping at the Philadelphia Art Museum, where the parade culminated with speeches by Jason Kelce, Chris Long, and others. Congratulations From Ardmore Toyota As both a certified Toyota dealership and a fixture in the Philadelphia community, we were proud to see the Eagles hoist the Lombardi trophy on Super Bowl Sunday and bring it back to the “City of Brotherly Love.” It was a day that will forever reside in the hearts and minds of Philadelphia — and Ardmore Toyota.
