The 2021 Toyota Supra Just Sets a New World Record

The new Toyota Supra has made a name for itself in the racing sector over the past two years. Teams have customized and modified the Supra to increase its already impressive horsepower to reach unprecedented speeds. One Supra in particular, built by Mikey Tuned, LLC, just earned the title of world record holder in the quarter mile. Continue reading to learn more. Meet the Award-Winning Mk V Supra This accomplishment was made possible by a number of upgrades which included a modified B58 straight-six engine, an Extreme Turbo Systems kit with a Precision turbocharger, and a two-stage nitrous system. The result? 950 horsepower and 950 lb.-ft. of torque directly channeled through an 8-speed transmission to the rear wheels. The new record was set at Palm Beach International Raceway where the car roared through the quarter-mile stretch at 153 mph in just 8.7 seconds. The car was also able to complete the quarter mile without the nitrous in 8.8 seconds reaching 156 mph. With so much progress in just two years, you have to wonder what speeds the Supra will reach next. Toyota Supra Highlights Even without these extreme modifications and upgrades, the Supra is a beast to contend with. Heralding back to its original design inspiration back in the 90’s, the new Supra alludes to that classic sports car feel. Unlike most sports cars, however, the Supra offers some added luxuries like 10 cu. ft. of cargo space in the trunk and some extra headroom thanks to the drag-resistant double-bubble roof. An available 3.0L Turbocharged Inline-Six engine provides 382 horsepower, a significant boost from the 2020 model. The lightweight ZF 8HP 8-speed transmission directs power to the rear wheels for outstanding power and performance. In addition to these performance features, the Supra comes equipped with Driver-Assistance technologies to keep you and your passengers safe. Some of the available safety features include: Lane Departure Warning w/ Steering Assist Automatic High Beams Speed Limit Information Experience the New Toyota Supra First-Hand in Philadelphia, PA Whether you’re searching for a potential winner on the track or a luxurious sports car for your daily commute, visit Ardmore Toyota to schedule a test drive. Giving Back: Toyota’s Role in the Community Recognized Once Again

The success of Toyota Financial Services is measured well beyond its bottom line. The finance branch of the Toyota brand that provides vehicle financing and protection plans was once again named to the Points of Light Foundation’s Civic 50 list. This marks the sixth consecutive year Toyota Financial Services has made the list and the second straight year being ranked as the top overall company in the Financial Services sector. Points of Light Foundation is a nonprofit organization that collaborates with volunteer efforts and organizations around the world. Each year, the organization publishes its Civic 50 list, which is compiled from a survey that measures the community outreach of companies on a basis of Integration, Investment, Impact and Institutionalization. Toyota’s Enduring Presence in Communities Around America Toyota Financial Services has been a mainstay on the list thanks to its commitment to youth development. Among the company’s partnerships are the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Girl Scouts of the USA. “Our team members are the backbone of those relationships,” said Mark Templin, President and CEO of Toyota Financial Services in a press release. “It’s so inspiring to see them continue to engage and support their communities during these challenging times.” In the past year, 64% of the company’s employees volunteered in their respective communities. And the company itself develops team members through community involvement such as the Community Ambassador program, which encourages strategic partnerships with local nonprofits and participation in community activities. The company even offers paid-time volunteering and includes community involvement participation targets as part of the company scoreboard. “We are incredibly honored that Points of Light Foundation recognizes our ongoing efforts, and has again named us one of its Civic 50,” Templin said. “Toyota Financial Services remains committed to being a good corporate citizen and continuing to respond to national and community needs.” Ardmore Toyota Is Committed to Philadelphia Toyota’s community involvement doesn’t stop at its financial services either. Local dealerships like Ardmore Toyota are heavily active and involved in the community as well. Why Toyota Hydrogen Technology is the Future

For more than twenty years, Toyota has been at the forefront of the movement toward cleaner, more efficient vehicles. In fact, just this month Toyota Motor was the only automotive company to be named to Fortune Magazine’ s Change the World List for the second time in just three years. It’s no secret that the Prius, Toyota’s best-selling hybrid car, has dramatically changed the world on its way to landing Toyota on the 2015 version of this list. But the reason for this year’s distinction boils down to one word: Hydrogen. With its eyes toward a more sustainable, zero-emissions future, Toyota is making the world a better place — one vehicle at a time. Here’s how they’re doing it. How Hydrogen Puts the ‘H’ in High-Performing Hydrogen fuel-cell technology has been used to power generators, space crafts, forklifts, and submarines. So why not cars? Good question. Hydrogen is a highly abundant resource and can be harnessed for cars in three ways: steam reforming, gasification, and electrolysis. But what makes Hydrogen a superior fuel source? Better range Hydrogen fuel cells allow for more miles from a single charge than gas and electric vehicles. Faster charge Vehicles powered by Hydrogen refuel more quickly than their electric counterparts. Better for the environment Unlike gas, Hydrogen is carbon-free and more eco-friendly. Make a Big Difference Today in Ardmore, PA At Ardmore Toyota, we’re excited to be part of such a forward-thinking brand. If being innovative is just as important to you, feel free to browse our inventory of available hybrid vehicles. Want to stay posted on the future? Top Thanksgiving Car Seat Tips from Buckle Up For Life

Thanksgiving is here again! People across the country hit the road for holiday travel and safety should be a top concern for all Ardmore and Philadelphia, PA families. The fine people at Buckle Up For Life have rolled out an updated list of the Top Thanksgiving Car Seat Tips. Pinch Test One easy way to test out if your child's car seat is tight enough is to use the "Inch and Pinch" test. This simple test is easy to perform; simply pinch the strap of the car seat near your child's shoulders. Grab a pinch of fabric, then tighten the strap until you're sure it is snug. Then, grab the car seat near the bottom and gently pull the seat to ensure it is secure. If your child's car seat is moving more than an inch, then you should tighten it. Secure Items One overlooked safety tip involves securing items that you'll be storing during travel. People often fail to secure items like luggage, gifts, turkeys, and more. In the event of an accident, many of these items could become hazardous to passengers inside the vehicle. more Face the Right Direction Always make to sure that your child's car seat faces the correct direction for their age group. Children under the age of two should remain in rear-facing child seats or until they exceed weight and height capacity. Remove the Coat Many parents forget to remove their children's heavy winter coats when buckling them in their car seats. If your child is wearing a heavy coat, make sure to remove it so the harnesses and safety belts fit as intended. Avoid Rental Car Seats Avoiding car seat rental is one of the travel tips from Buckle Up for Life that encourages travelers to take advantage of free safety seat checks from airlines. If you need to travel, call your airline ahead of time and inquire about their specific policies on checking a car seat for your child. Image via Pixabay

The Best-Selling Car is Still the Most 'American-Made'

Have you heard the news? The best-selling car for the past 14 years is on its way to set yet another trend, this time one that comes to us as no surprise. Cars.com, in their American-Made Index, rates vehicles built and brought into the U.S based on several factors to ultimately determine those whose are the most American-made. Can you guess which car is on this list? Here's a hint. If you guessed Camry, you are correct! The Camry was rated as the most American-made vehicle. This is a position the Camry has held for the second straight year, and the sixth time overall it was included on the list. The factors used to determine those results include the percentage of parts considered domestic under federal regulations, whether the car is assembled in the U.S. and also includes U.S. sales. If a model is determined to have a parts content rating below 75 percent, they are disqualified. This also includes models built exclusively outside the U.S. or models that are on their way to being discontinued without any kind of U.S. built successor. All these factors gave way to the eventual rating of the Camry - an astounding 75 percent American. As a bonus, the Sienna is yet another vehicle included on the list and it ranked third overall. Not a bad way to end June if we say so ourselves. For more information on the Camry and its stellar rating, please be sure to visit: http://toyota.us/28YrzCb
