The Toyota brand was ranked 4th overall and also received three segment awards. The Toyota Prius v was awarded for the Compact Multi-Purpose Vehicle segment, while the popular Toyota Sienna received the award in the Minivan segment. The Toyota Tundra led the Large Light Duty Pickup segment with a segment award.

J.D. Power’s study finds long-term durability continues to be an important consumer purchase consideration.  The number of problems an owner experiences affects their repurchase intent and their vehicle’s retained value.

The results are just the latest in a series of recent industry honors taken home by Lexus and Toyota.

-Kelley Blue Book recognizes 11 Toyota and Lexus vehicles with “Best Resale Value Awards” for 2016.  For the fifth year in a row, Lexus took top honors for luxury brand.

-Toyota Corolla, Camry, Prius c and Highlander Hybrid and the Lexus RX and LS flagship sedan each won Kelley Blue Book’s KBB.com 5-year “Cost to Own” awards in their segments for new cars in their initial five-year ownership period.

It’s great to be admired. And an honor to be #1 in your industry – for quality, social responsibility, people management and global competitiveness, to name a few. It’s these qualities and more that have led Toyota to be once again named “World’s Most Admired” in FORTUNE’s annual list.

Toyota’s position at #1 in the industry and #28 worldwide showcases the strength of the company’s reputation in the eyes of executives around the globe. Toyota is also #10 out of all 652 companies surveyed in the attributes of “ability to attract, develop, and keep talented people,” as well as “running a global business.”

The survey asked 4,000 of the world’s top executives, directors, and industry analysts to identify the companies with the strongest reputations.

The editors’ decision centers around room and comfort (which includes passenger and cargo space), power and performance, ride and handling and fit and finish. An extra emphasis is placed on dollar value. Click here for the full story.

Are you a worrier? There is so much in the world to be worried about. But if you are looking for one less thing to worry about when it comes to your car, then look no further than Toyota. If you have a Toyota or Lexus, you can cross it off your list of things that keep you up at night.

Cars.com just unveiled its Worry Free Index for 2015. 5 of the top 13 Worry free models are Toyota’s that includes:

  • No. 1 Avalon hybrid
  • No. 7 Toyota Avalon
  • No. 8 Toyota Tundra
  • No. 9 Toyota Highlander
  • No. 13 Toyota Prius

No other automaker put more than three models in the Top 15!

How did Cars.com come to this result with their Worry Free Index? They compiled the list by taking “the market’s top 120 sellers through September 2015 (roughly 90 percent of new cars sold) and analyzed reliability scores from thousands of Cars.com consumers over the most recent model years. We also scrutinized expected repair costs, which gauge the frequency and seriousness when things go wrong. But reliability alone isn’t the only component of what makes a car worry-free, so we looked at five-year estimated maintenance costs (which factor in any free-maintenance programs) and manufacturer warranties, as well.”
