The success of Toyota Financial Services is measured well beyond its bottom line.

The finance branch of the Toyota brand that provides vehicle financing and protection plans was once again named to the Points of Light Foundation’s Civic 50 list. This marks the sixth consecutive year Toyota Financial Services has made the list and the second straight year being ranked as the top overall company in the Financial Services sector.

Points of Light Foundation is a nonprofit organization that collaborates with volunteer efforts and organizations around the world. Each year, the organization publishes its Civic 50 list, which is compiled from a survey that measures the community outreach of companies on a basis of Integration, Investment, Impact and Institutionalization.

Toyota’s Enduring Presence in Communities Around America

Toyota Financial Services has been a mainstay on the list thanks to its commitment to youth development. Among the company’s partnerships are the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Girl Scouts of the USA.

“Our team members are the backbone of those relationships,” said Mark Templin, President and CEO of Toyota Financial Services in a press release. “It’s so inspiring to see them continue to engage and support their communities during these challenging times.”

In the past year, 64% of the company’s employees volunteered in their respective communities. And the company itself develops team members through community involvement such as the Community Ambassador program, which encourages strategic partnerships with local nonprofits and participation in community activities. The company even offers paid-time volunteering and includes community involvement participation targets as part of the company scoreboard.

“We are incredibly honored that Points of Light Foundation recognizes our ongoing efforts, and has again named us one of its Civic 50,” Templin said. “Toyota Financial Services remains committed to being a good corporate citizen and continuing to respond to national and community needs.”

Ardmore Toyota Is Committed to Philadelphia

Toyota’s community involvement doesn’t stop at its financial services either. Local dealerships like Ardmore Toyota are heavily active and involved in the community as well. Ardmore Toyota supports more than 100 organizations including the Ronald McDonald House of Philadelphia, the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, the Special Olympics of Pennsylvania and so many more.

If you could use some help getting into your next vehicle, the finance department at Ardmore Toyota can lend a helping hand, just as Toyota does throughout the community.

Nahjee Grant childrens book

Ardmore Toyota has quite a history of community involvement, and the dealership’s latest efforts tackle an issue that is at the forefront of society today: Police and community relations.

Ardmore Toyota has made a donation to support a former employee in publishing a children’s book about improving relationships between police and the communities in which they serve. And we’d love for you to also make a donation to help see this project through.

Funding Nahjee Grant’s Next Children’s Book

Aron Goes to the Police Academy is the latest work of Nahjee Grant, a former Ardmore Toyota employee and civic leader who has gone on to publish 12 children’s books including Aron Goes to the White House Science Fair and Aron Runs for Class President

Grant’s latest work takes on a touchy subject in a way that is fun and lighthearted but with a clear and direct message, and it draws on some of the real-world work he has done to bridge the gap between police and the community.

Bringing His Story to Life

Grant is utilizing the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo to fund the costs associated with publishing the book and bringing it to bookshelves and police departments all across the country. The money raised will help pay for the book’s illustrations rendered by a freelance artist, formatting, ISBN registration, proof printing, and curriculum production.

Grant hopes to initially publish 1,000 books to distribute to police departments that are associated with the Race for Peace organization, which is made up of members of law enforcement, clergy, government, and citizens from the greater Philadelphia area.

Donate Today

Grant’s crowdfunding campaign ends on August 12, and he could use your help to cross the finish line. To donate or to learn more about the book and Nahjee himself, visit the project page here. To show his appreciation to everyone who makes a donation, Nahjee is offering up some limited-edition rewards including early access to the book.

We encourage you to make a donation to help bring Nahjee’s idea to life and to inspire change in the Philadelphia community and beyond.

The results provide valuable insights regarding which models and car manufacturers show the greatest improvements in dependability compared to previous years.

Vehicle Dependability Is Improving

While the study shows a slowed rate of improvement, 2020 marks the best performance for automakers in history. According to the study, the overall vehicle dependability improved 1.5% from 2019.

Crossovers and SUVs Are Improving

While crossovers and SUVs have consistently shown more reported problems than cars over the years, the gap is narrowing considerably compared to previous years. This means the quality and dependability of crossovers and SUVs is improving and that car manufacturers are giving the same level of attention to these models.

In-Vehicle Technology Shows the Highest Rate of Improvement

The highest and yet most improved category of reported problems is in-vehicle technology. Specifically, this includes Audio/Communication/Entertainment/Navigation (ACEN).

Toyota Is One of the Highest-Ranked Brands

2020 Toyota Avalon Philadelphia PA

Toyota vehicles are known for many things, including: reliability, safety, and capability. And this is reflected in their latest announcement. In February 2020, Toyota announced that they are launching two variations of their most popular sedan models: the Toyota Avalon and Toyota Camry will be available at all-wheel drive (AWD) models.

Learn more about this launch below.

All-Wheel Drive on the Toyota Avalon and Camry

When will these AWD models be released?

The Toyota Avalon AWD will be released with the 2021 model year. The Toyota Camry AWD will be released with the 2020 model year.

What does AWD really mean?

Essentially, all-wheel drive means increased traction. AWD means that the vehicle’s powertrain can send power to all of its wheels, unlike front-wheel or rear-wheel drive. While 4WD is often optimized specifically for extreme off-road conditions, AWD is optimized for more normal conditions, as well as moderate off-road conditions. For example, it helps provide extra traction when a road is wet or if you’re driving through mud, sand, or gravel. Unless you go off-roading frequently, AWD will most often be sufficient for your needs.

What are some other top features of the Avalon and Camry?

The Avalon full-size sedan and Camry midsize car both have a lot to offer. Here are some of the top features of the 2020 Toyota Avalon:

  • 8 unique trim levels
  • Standard 3.5L V6 engine w/ 201 horsepower and 267 lb.-ft. of torque
  • 16.09 cu. ft. of trunk space
  • Standard Audio Plus features, including 8 speakers, 9-inch touchscreen and more
  • Standard Toyota Safety Sense™ P (TSS-P)

Here are a few of the top features of the 2020 Toyota Camry:

  • 29 city / 41 highway mpg
  • 12 unique trim levels
  • Standard Toyota + Alexa App
  • Available Blind Spot Monitor (BSM)73 with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert (RCTA)
  • Standard Toyota Safety Sense™ P (TSS-P)
