Do you check your car’s tire pressure once a month? Probably not. 85% of drivers don’t! Make tire checks are a part of your regular maintenance routine, because they’re not just important for safety; they can save you big money at the gas pump.

Underinflated tires may run hot and wear faster, causing low gas mileage. Check your owner's manual or door sticker for the ideal pressure. When it's time to top up your tires, consider using nitrogen. It has larger molecules than air, so it leaks at a slower rate; and it’s free from oxygen or moisture, so it won’t degrade rubber or rust your rims. Airline pilots and racecar drivers entrust their tires to nitrogen, and more service stations are offering nitrogen pumps. Ask your dealer mechanic if it’s the right choice for you.
