The <\/span>new Toyota Supra<\/span><\/a> has made a name for itself in the racing sector over the past two years. Teams have customized and modified the Supra to increase its already impressive horsepower to reach unprecedented speeds.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Meet the Award-Winning Mk V Supra<\/span><\/h2>\n

This accomplishment was made possible by a number of upgrades which included a modified <\/span>B58 straight-six engine<\/span><\/a>, an Extreme Turbo Systems kit with a Precision turbocharger, and a two-stage nitrous system. The result? 950 horsepower and 950 lb.-ft. of torque directly channeled through an 8-speed transmission to the rear wheels.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The new record was set at Palm Beach International Raceway where the car roared through the quarter-mile stretch at 153 mph in just 8.7 seconds. The car was also able to complete the quarter mile without the nitrous in 8.8 seconds reaching 156 mph.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With so much progress in just two years, you have to wonder what speeds the Supra will reach next.<\/p>\n

Toyota Supra Highlights<\/span><\/h2>\n

Even without these extreme modifications and upgrades, the Supra is a beast to contend with. Heralding back to its original design inspiration back in the 90\u2019s, the new Supra alludes to that classic sports car feel. Unlike most sports cars, however, the Supra offers some added luxuries like 10 cu. ft. of cargo space in the trunk and some extra headroom thanks to the drag-resistant double-bubble roof.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

An available 3.0L Turbocharged Inline-Six engine provides 382 horsepower, a significant boost from the 2020 model. The lightweight ZF 8HP 8-speed transmission directs power to the rear wheels for outstanding power and performance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
