Toyota Safety Sense\u2122 (TSS)<\/span><\/a> arms your vehicle with the technology to protect you from potential dangers on the road. TSS is a suite of driver-assist features that come standard on a variety of new Toyota models \u2014 because safety shouldn\u2019t be an option. <\/span><\/p>\n

Check out the features that are available with TSS, including two brand-new systems \u2014 Road Sign Assist and Lane Tracing Assist.<\/span><\/p>\n

Toyota Safety Sense\u2122 Features <\/span><\/h2>\n

Pre-Collision System<\/span><\/h3>\n

When you approach a vehicle too quickly, the Pre-Collision System warns you of a potential frontal collision. It can sense when you apply the brakes \u2014 or if you don\u2019t brake in time \u2014 and can apply more force using Brake Assist so your vehicle comes to a stop before an accident occurs. <\/span><\/p>\n

Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection<\/span><\/h3>\n

In addition to the Pre-Collision System, Pre-Collision with Pedestrian Detection more accurately detects when foot traffic crosses in front of your vehicle \u2014 from dog walkers to bike riders and everything in between \u2014 and alerts you to take action. <\/span><\/p>\n

Lane Departure Alert<\/span><\/h3>\n

While you cruise the highway at 32 mph or faster, Lane Departure Alert can warn you when your vehicle begins to drift into another lane. When equipped with Steering Assist, your vehicle will automatically provide corrective steering to shift you back into the lane. <\/span><\/p>\n

Automatic High Beams<\/span><\/h3>\n

When driving at night, Automatic High Beams allow your vehicle to adjust appropriately by detecting the headlights and taillights of vehicles in front of you. If you forget to switch off high beams when an oncoming car approaches, Automatic High Beams does it for you. <\/span><\/p>\n

Dynamic Radar Cruise Control<\/span><\/h3>\n

Setting your vehicle to cruise control allows you to maintain a constant speed as you drive \u2014 with Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, your Toyota also adjusts for the changes in speed of the driver ahead of you, without deactivating cruise control. And, if your vehicle senses that you need to slow down, it will alert you with audio and visual signs and even gently apply the brakes. <\/span><\/p>\n

Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control is also available. <\/span><\/p>\n

New TSS Features<\/span><\/h2>\n

Road Sign Assist<\/span><\/h3>\n

The forward-facing intelligent camera on your Toyota can detect stop signs, speed limit signs, and more \u2014 and then display the signs on your Multi-Information Display (MID). <\/span><\/p>\n

Lane Tracing Assist<\/span><\/h3>\n

When coupled with Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, <\/span>Lane Tracing Assist<\/span><\/a> produces a display of the vehicle\u2019s position on the road by detecting the lane markers. The view of your vehicle will appear on the MID. <\/span><\/p>\n
