Plenty of headlines came out of this year\u2019s New York International Auto Show, but none bigger than this one: The Toyota RAV4, the model that created the crossover SUV segment, is about to change the game once again. <\/span><\/p>\n

When the all-new 2019 Toyota RAV4 <\/span>rolled onto center stage<\/span><\/a> at the Jacob Javits Convention Center, industry enthusiasts noticed a fresh, formidable appearance that\u2019s on par with the larger 4Runner and Highlander models.<\/span><\/p>\n

But that\u2019s not all they noticed. Find out what the redesigned RAV4 has in store for drivers when it makes its North American retail debut this winter.<\/p>\n

Why the 2019 Toyota RAV4 Will Change Everything <\/span><\/h2>\n

Performance<\/span><\/h3>\n

The new RAV4 will come with a choice of two robust powertrains: a 2.5L engine paired with an 8-speed Direct-Shift automatic transmission for gas models, or a 2.5L engine mated with a Toyota Hybrid System transmission for hybrid models. Each is engineered to improve upon both the previous generation\u2019s responsiveness and fuel economy. <\/span><\/p>\n

Dynamic Torque Vectoring All-Wheel Drive (AWD) has been incorporated to enhance handling. Rear Driveline Disconnect has been added to boost efficiency numbers. <\/span><\/p>\n

Bottom line? The new RAV4 will provide a sportier, more capable ride for drivers of all lifestyles. <\/span><\/p>\n

Style <\/span><\/h3>\n

The 2019 RAV4 has a new style for a new generation. This crossover achieves the perfect combination of ruggedness and charisma, thanks to a more prominent nose and shoulders. But it\u2019s not all form and no function. The RAV4\u2019s facelift contributes to increased forward and side visibility and a higher ground clearance. <\/span><\/p>\n

And that\u2019s just the exterior. Everything about the RAV4\u2019s cabin embodies the modern driving experience \u2014 from the standard Qi wireless charger to the panoramic moonroof.<\/span><\/p>\n

Safety <\/span><\/h3>\n

The new RAV4 will be outfitted with Toyota Safety Sense\u2122 2.0. That means you\u2019ll get everything you expect from Toyota predictive safety technology, like the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, and Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist. <\/span><\/p>\n

But you\u2019ll also enjoy a few pleasant surprises. With Lane Tracing Assist, your RAV4 will keep you on the right track by detecting any veering outside the white or yellow lane markings. With Road Sign Assist, it will visually and audibly alert you in case a street sign sneaks up on you.<\/p>\n
